Got a few besties coming round? Rack up a few bottles, lay on some nibbles and you’re all set.

Let’s face it’s about as much fun as you can possibly have with your clothes on.

I’m going to show you some fun things you can do with Prosecco, give you some recipes and suggest some cocktails you can make with it.

I’m also going to show you a surprising place where you can get cheap prosecco on a good deal.

You can get offers every day with free delivery.

You may already know that Prosecco is a sparkling wine from Northern Italy, it’s grown in two primary regions that are protected by law, this means that you know when you’re buying that it’s the genuine stuff and not a cheap knock off.

The two prosecco regions are the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions.

Prosecco is made in exactly the same way as Champagne but it cannot be called that because only sparkling wine from the Champagne region of Northern France can use the name.

A full size bottle even has the same shaped cork and wire cage as Champagne.

Did you know the wire cage around the top of the bottle of prosecco is called a Muzzlet (From Muzzle) or sometimes wirehoods (hey it’s getting a bit 50 shades here!).

Apparently if they didn’t use the Muzzlet on a bottle then sometimes the corks would explode out of the bottles and long ago several people lost an eye. Ouch.

So, they muzzle the bottles now.

Cocktail Recipes

Prosecco is a perfect topper for a number of fun fizzy wine based cocktails.

Food Recipes

Prosecco can be used as an ingredient in a variety of cooking and food.

Prosecco Jelly
Easy and delicious. Heat some sugar and water until the sugar has melted, add some strawberries and continue to cook gently for about 5 minutes or until the syrup has gone pink from the strawberries. Strain the syrup discarding the strawberries (note, do not force the strawberries in the strainer, it will cause the syrup to become cloudy). Soak gelatine sheets in cold water until soft and then stir them into the syrup until dissolved. Pour prosecco into the mixture and divide between between some elegant glasses. Chill overnight then garnish with extra strawberries or forest fruits of your choice.

Prosecco Cake
Prosecco is used as a flavouring in some cake recipes simply mix prosecco and sugar in a pan and heat until the sugar has dissolved and you have a nice syrup. This can be drizzled over your cake before decoration to infuse a wonderful flavour to your cake.

Prosecco Nibbles
Resort to italian classics like salami, black and green olives and maybe get adventurous with stuffed peppers and artichokes this is a perfect accompaniment to your prosecco.

Party Timeprosecco vineyard photo

It is the perfect party drink, it’s usually not as high in alcohol as regular wine at 10 – 11% but this varies between manufacturer.

But it’s free flowing and the bubbles make for an exciting drink that won’t break the bank.

Remember though that since ‘Prosecco‘ is alcohol someone who is an adult will have to sign for it when the delivery arrives.
